Healthy and Delicious Shopping List

I know it can be hard to start eating right and planning meals, but having the right kind of food in your house will make it much easier.  To get started I would suggest cleaning out your fridge and pantry, and removing all those tempting items that are so easy to grab and indulge.  Instead, find some healthy replacements that will satisfy your cravings and not make you feel guilty later.  Don't self-sabotage!  If you don't like veggies, I get it, I never liked them before, but preparing them correctly and finding the ones you do like makes all the difference in the world.

To get started, here is a sample of things I might buy at the grocery store to make all the delicious things you will find on the recipe tabs.  Expect me to update this often and if you have any suggestions or recipe ideas please let me know!  I would love to hear from you!

Veggies

Every good meal starts with a good portion of vegetables.  If you think you hate all vegetables you just haven't found the right ones yet!  Personally I hate peas and canned green beans.  I never knew how good green beans were until I tried them fresh!  There are plenty of other good vegetables out there but these are some of my favorites:

* Asparagus
* Avocado
* Baby Carrots
* Bell Peppers
* Cauliflower
* Green Beans
* Lettuce (Not Iceberg)
* Onion
* Salsa
* Spaghetti Squash
* Sundried Tomatoes
* Sweet Peppers

Fruits

You should buy all your favorite fruits because they are a healthy go to snack when you want something sweet or crunchy.  The fruits below are some of my favorites and will be featured in some of the recipes I post:

* Apples
* Assorted Berries (Strawberries, Blackberries, Rasberries, Blueberries)
* Bananas (I freeze mine when they are yellow and spotted with brown.  Make sure you peel it first!!)
* Mandarins
* Peaches
* Pineapple

Protein

You won't really find any seafood on here, I'm not a fan so I don't buy it.  If you like seafood it's a great healthy source of protein in most cases so go ahead and pick some up while you're out shopping for some of these other yummy ingredients.  Also don't forget to try some shakeology.  It's my favorite protein shake and it's the most nurtient dense meal of the day.  You can find it at this link :

* Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
* Cottage Cheese
* Eggs
* Lean Ground Beef (95% or better)
* Lean Ground Chicken or Turkey (93% or better)
* Lean Lunch Meats
* Plain Greek Yogurt or Yogurt Blend
* Pork Tenderloin
* Ricotta Cheese
* Turkey Bacon

Carbs and Starches

Let's be honest, you won't find my favorite carbs on here (think sugar coma, like ice cream filled donuts lol) but you will find a ton of good substitutes that keep me satisfied between cheat days.

* Beans (Pick a few, I like black beans)
* Brown Rice
* Corn
* Corn Tortillas
* Oatmeal
* Potatoes
* Whole Grain Bread
* Whole Grain Pasta
* Whole Wheat Tortilla
* Pitas

Others

Do yourself a favor and eat these in limited supply:

* Cheese (I love all cheese, I use a lot of provalone, pepper jack, monterey jack, etc)
* Nuts (Almonds, Pecans, Peanuts,
* Hummus
* Nut Butters (I like peanut butter)
* Extra Virgin Olive Oil

 So this grocery list should be enough to get you started.  Pick your favorites and add your own.  These are just a few of my go to shopping items.
